چکیده

Ataxia is a kind of external characteristics when the human body has poor coordination and balance disorder, it often indicates diseases in certain parts body. Many internal factors may causing ataxia; currently, observed characteristics, combined with Doctor’s personal clinical experience play main roles diagnosing ataxia. In this situation, different kinds be confused, leading to delay treatment recovery. Modern high precision medical instruments would provide better accuracy but economic cost non-negligible factor. paper, novel non-contact sensing technique used detect distinguish sensory ataxia cerebellar Firstly, Romberg’s test gait analysis data are collected by microwave platform; then, after some preprocessing, machine learning approaches have been applied train models. For test, time domain features considered, all three algorithms higher than 96%; for detection, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) dimensionality reduction, accuracies Back Propagation (BP) neural Network, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF) 97.8, 98.9, 91.1%, respectively.

Acute cerebellar ataxia.

Acute cerebellar ataxia occurring in childhood is a definite clear-cut syndrome, yet only three cases appear to have been reported in the British literature (Batten, 1907; Taylor, 1913), although more recently cases with similar features have been included in wider surveys on encephalitis by Brewis (1954) and on ataxia by Shanks (1950). Typically the clinical picture is characterized by the sud...

Cerebellar Ataxia and CoQ10 Deficiency.

In 2001, we described six patients with cerebellar ataxia and severe deficiency of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10, ubiquinone) in skeletal muscle [1]. Within one year, we described 13 additional patients [2]; therefore, we suspected this was not a very rare syndrome. Twelve years after our original report, cerebellar ataxia and atrophy has emerged as the most common clinical presentation of CoQ10 deficien...

Cerebellar ataxia and coeliac disease.

A 37-year-old woman presented in July, 2002, with a 12-year history of progressive dysarthria and ataxia. Her symptoms became noticeably worse during pregnancy in 1999 and 2001. She had also been anaemic for the past 7 years, and coeliac disease had been diagnosed in 1997. At that time, she had high serum concentrations of IgG and IgA antibodies to gliadin, an endomysial titre of 1:32, and duod...

A case of Cerebellar Ataxia

The patient denied any headaches, vertigo, weakness, confusion, bowel or bladder dysfunction and the unsteadiness was independent of position. Bowel movements were normal and he reported no other symptoms of abdominal pathology. The patient drank on average 10 units of alcohol a week and reported no recent increase in consumption. He was a life-long non-smoker, and denied any recent symptoms of...

Robotic Compensation of Cerebellar Ataxia

The cerebellum is believed to play a role in dynamic compensation in the human motor control system. When it is damaged, subjects make clumsy movements with reduced acceleration, increased overshoot, and swerving in multi-joint movements. These errors, which are referred to clinically as ataxia, are consistent with failing to compensate for the dynamics of the body, especially its inertia durin...
